This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Honestly, this place does not even deserve to be called a hotel — it felt worse than a zero-star lodge.

The cleanliness was extremely poor, the service was terrible, and the staff behaved in a very unprofessional and arrogant manner. Their attitude towards guests was unacceptable.

I booked this property through Agoda because the listing clearly mentioned that free parking was included. However, upon check-in, I was informed that I had to pay an additional AED 50 per night for parking. This is completely misleading and feels like a scam.

The problems did not stop there. I requested an iron box at around 8:30 PM, and despite calling the reception more than 10 times, nobody bothered to send it. The staff showed no concern or responsibility toward guests.

This hotel completely ruined our mood and caused unnecessary stress during our stay. I strongly do NOT recommend this property to anyone. Save your money, time, and peace of mind — even a one-star or zero-star hotel would provide a better experience than this place.🤮🤮🤮🤮

Shame on the management. Instead of running a hotel like this, better go and beg. At least people would get honesty there, not fake promises and useless service. Completely disappointing experience.🤮🤮🤮🤮 Also, when booking through the Agoda app or any other third-party app, the hotel management may provide misleading or incorrect information about the facilities and services. Please do not trust everything.

Had a wonderful experience staying at Grand Excelsior Hotel Deira. The welcome was very warm, and the staff treated us with great care and professionalism throughout our stay. The service was excellent, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was comfortable and pleasant.

Today about 12.30 am , door lock card key disabled and started 9 degit password for degital lock, people concern left without ensuring it's safty, now room is unsafe without lock because every occupiar donot friendly with system and receiptnist have no time to attend customer phones, He/she engaged to attend persons attend on counter.
No doubt, existing short staff is customer friendly but management is totally failled to access requirement of staff strength for effective floor management which not only I but majority of customer feel & expressed same views very first day ie before 3 days.
I as a senior citizen having views either management should appointment skilled sufficient staff or close hoted where as they having good infrastructure & location.

Amazing Stay at Grand Excelsior Hotel Deira! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had a fantastic experience during my recent trip to Dubai! I stayed at Grand Excelsior Hotel Deira and everything exceeded my expectations. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable, making it perfect to relax after a long day.

The service was outstanding — the staff was extremely polite, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to major attractions, shopping areas, and transport.

Overall, it was a wonderful stay with great hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Dubai, whether for business or leisure. Will definitely visit again!

Very poor customer service. The room lacked even basic amenities, and despite repeated requests, nothing was provided. Most of the staff members were rude and unhelpful, which made the overall experience extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this place.

We stayed at this hotel from in Feb 2026. Looking back, the first thing I should have done was read all the reviews carefully, because many of the issues we experienced were already mentioned by other guests.

We arrived late at night, around 11 PM, and were assigned to a room that was very dirty (see attached photo). There was no refrigerator, which is inconvenient if you need to store food or medication. The bathtub was dirty, the carpet was old and worn, and dust was everywhere — especially in the corners, which clearly had not been cleaned properly.

I requested a transfer, and to be fair, the staff member who assisted us was very courteous and respectful. We were shown two other rooms and settled on one that was slightly better. However, the same issues remained: old carpet, dust in the corners, and overall poor maintenance.

When I checked the kettle before using it, I found residue inside, so I had to clean it myself. One of the dresser drawers was damp, which would have damaged or contaminated our clothes if we hadn’t noticed. Surprisingly, there were no hangers in the room — you have to request them, along with the iron and ironing board. I also asked for a small towel for the sink and was told that the hotel does not provide that type of towel, which I found unusual.

Another ongoing issue was the key card. Almost every day, we had to go back to reception to have it reprogrammed. This happened four or five times. If you return late at night and your key doesn’t work, you must line up again at the front desk, which is frustrating.

To be fair, the staff were consistently polite and helpful. The problem seems more related to management and overall system issues. I was told the hotel is run by a third-party agency, which may explain the lack of quality control.

On the positive side, the location is excellent. It is in a busy area and right next to a 24-hour supermarket, which is very convenient. The food was average — acceptable for the price.

We chose this hotel because it showed as one of the lowest-priced options in the area. However, for nearly $1,000 for eight nights, I expected better standards of cleanliness and maintenance.

Overall, while the staff were good and the location was convenient, I would not recommend this hotel. You may want to consider other options to avoid frustration.

My father Mr Anil (from Bhopal, India) is currently staying there, booked it for 6 nights. Its quite challenging- room amenities not working, services levels are pathetic, no one is listening and taking care. We have been requesting them but its a dead-end. They dont care. Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was not satisfactory. The telephone line in my room was not working, so it was impossible to contact reception. I also found a cockroach in the bathroom, which is unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint.

I requested an iron, but the hotel did not have one available at first. After repeatedly asking, they brought me a broken iron that could not be used. Only after waiting for two to three hours did they finally bring another iron.

Due to these issues, I will be checking out of the hotel tomorrow. Overall, I am not satisfied with the quality of their service and responsiveness.

Worst hotel experience in Dubai.
The bathrooms were not cleaned at all, and the level of customer service was extremely poor and rude.

I specifically requested a quiet room, yet I couldn’t sleep until 4:00 a.m. because of very loud club music. When I asked to change the room, I was told it was not possible in a very disrespectful manner, without any attempt to help or even apologize.

This stay was frustrating, exhausting, and unacceptable, especially for a city like Dubai where hospitality standards are usually high.
I would not recommend this place at all.

The service and staff were good and courteous. However, the amenities did not fully meet the expectations of a 4-star hotel. The refrigerator was not working properly, some taps need maintenance, and the cupboard drawers were a bit difficult to use. Compared to this, some 3-star hotels in India offer better facilities. The breakfast was good. Overall, there is room for improvement.

Despite its great location and decent rooms, I would not recommend this hotel. I stayed here tonight, and there’s extremely loud music coming from the bar. It’s now 1:30 a.m., and the noise and vibrations can be felt clearly in my room — I can’t sleep at all. The phone in the room doesn’t work, so I had to get dressed and go downstairs to complain, but they haven’t lowered the volume. To make matters worse, no one answers the hotel’s main line either. Very disappointing experience.

Terrible experience at this Dubai hotel. Room design was nice but cleanliness was a big letdown. Visited places in Dubai and came back to a dirty floor and dusty tables. Management was unhelpful and one staff member was rude. When we threatened to complain to Dubai municipality, they basically told us to go ahead 😒. Not worth staying here, especially in a city like Dubai.

Very Bad Experience – Not Recommended at All

I had a terrible experience at this hotel. First of all, the staff has absolutely no manners, no etiquette, and no idea how to deal with customers. Their attitude is rude, careless, and completely unprofessional.

I booked a large bed, but instead, they gave me a mix of double, single, and twin beds, which is totally unacceptable. The rooms are in very poor condition, not clean at all, and the overall hygiene is horrible. Nothing is maintained properly.

There are no proper facilities, no cleanliness, and no comfort. The cleaner service is also very poor. Honestly, nothing is right in this hotel.

On my second booking, I made a small mistake with the date, but the hotel staff did not help at all. They refused to change the date and showed zero cooperation. On top of that, I tried calling them many times—they don’t pick up calls, they don’t respond to emails, and they completely ignore the customer.

Additionally, they promised parking, but there was no parking available. When I inquired, they told me to park myself in a tiny space behind the hotel, where the walls were so close that the car was scraping against them. Ultimately, I had to park outside.

This is a very irresponsible and unprofessional hotel. I strongly do NOT recommend this place to anyone. Please save your money and your peace of mind and do not book this hotel at all.

Stayed there just for a day, and it was alright. The only downside was the noise from outside until very late which nothing they can do about it. I still give 5 stars because the staffs are friendly and very helpful especially with the bellboy who took care of my belongings when I arrived and when I checkout. WORST stay, hotel is not clean and NOT safe especially not with babies. I got electrocuted by their defect aquipment in the room. The hotel refused to take accountabilty help or give any compensation. Eventually they started lying and saying the equipment was not broken after they took it out the room. Right from the moment of check-in untill the time of check-out the experience remained awful. The whole Hotel is in a complete mess with ZERO customer service and let's not talk about the Cleanliness of the rooms. The rooms are extremely dirty, the carpet, desks, tables, lamps and washroom were very very dirty. I'd chase them for more than 10 hours to get the Towels and dental kits which should be there before the check-ins. While booking from Agoda I took this with the Breakfast (and paid accordingly) but I was asked to get up from the Breakfast table as the Breakfast deal wasn't there on the Hotel records. There was a cockroach in the lobby washroom (sink) and while pointing it out to the Hotel Staff...he gladly said 'we did the pest control yesterday only. Having said the above, please be very careful before booking this one to save yourself from being highly disappointed in booking a Hotel and you will have to experience all of this. I hope they act fast on the feedback to survive in this competitive industry.

I had a very disappointing experience at the front desk today. An elderly lady returned car keys she found on the floor, clearly trying to do the right thing. Instead of being thanked or treated with respect, the front desk officer (possibly named Farooq, not sure of the spelling) spoke to her in a rude and commanding manner.
He told her to “put it in the drawer” without clearly explaining where, and his tone was disrespectful and dismissive. He even appeared to rant at her, which was completely unnecessary and unprofessional.
This is not how guests—or anyone—should be treated. Hospitality should be based on respect, especially toward elderly guests.

I will put a zero star for that guy in the front desk name farooq.

This has been the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I arrived early and the front desk staff refused to check me in, even when I offered to pay for a full extra day. Instead, I was quoted an unreasonable $150 just for a few early hours more than the cost of my two-day booking. What made the situation even more upsetting is that I felt I was being treated differently because I am Black. The staff showed no courtesy, no respect, and no willingness to assist me in any reasonable way. Their behavior made me feel singled out and unwelcome.Guests especially Black travelers should be aware that the service here may not be fair or respectful. My experience was completely unprofessional, dismissive, and lacking in basic hospitality.
I would never come back anywhere near this place. 👎🏽

My stay was extremely disappointing. The WiFi never worked properly, and the TV was basically just a display with no functionality at all. On top of that, the service was severely lacking — any requests for help or support were either ignored or handled poorly. For the price and expectations, this is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend staying here until they fix these basic issues and improve their service.

The location is fine, but the service is quite poor. If I could, I would rate the service with one negative star. The check-in was four hours late, and the hotel key card did not function, so we had to change. Even after 10 hours, they had not yet delivered toiletries or towels, despite my four complaints. The closet refrigerator does not operate, and neither do the electrical outlets. All of the furniture is old and rickety. Additionally, water was constantly spilling from the water faucet. I have asked for a prayer mat several times and have yet to receive one. In my perspective, this hotel is only a name. It does not even qualify for a one-star hotel.

⭐ 1/5 – Extremely Disappointing Stay

My recent stay at this hotel was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had. The problems began right from the moment I arrived. Check-in took almost an hour, as I had to stand in a long queue with barely any staff attending. I had booked a King Suite, but they initially gave me a twin-bed room instead. When I raised the issue, they reassigned me to a King Suite—only for me to discover that the room was already occupied by someone else. Completely unacceptable.

Throughout my stay, the reception was almost always empty. Before check-in and even after, I tried multiple times to reach them both by phone and in person, but no one was available to assist.

The room service was equally disappointing. I requested cutlery and was told it couldn’t be provided. When I asked for a tissue box, they asked me to “check with reception,” which again was deserted. Basic hospitality standards were clearly missing.

Overall, the hotel lacks management, responsiveness, and professionalism. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable or hassle-free stay.

– One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had

The hotel listed a completely wrong and outdated name and location on Google Maps, and they never bothered to fix it. Because of this, we wasted hours in the heat trying to find a hotel that didn’t even exist under the name shown in our booking.

When we finally arrived, things got even worse:
• Extremely slow and chaotic check-in
• Very dirty room, nowhere near the “Deluxe” category I paid for — honestly not even 2-star quality
• I decided to leave immediately. The manager promised a refund and told me it would be processed through the travel agent…
But of course, they never refunded a single cent. Completely dishonest.

This was a terrible experience from start to finish. I absolutely do NOT recommend this hotel.

Didn’t check the reviews before I booked ( I wish you did). We booked paid for our room 4 days before arriving. After arriving to hotel we saw at least 15 people waiting to check in but only 1 person working while another 5/6 guys walking around doing nothing. Took us 2 hours just to get inside our room which we paid days early. I never had any issues like that before. Please do not stay here. Staff are also not nice at all. This ain’t close to 4 star hotel.

Reserved the room for two nights & check out time is 11/4 @ 3pm. Staff came to my room midnight 11/4 and hardly knocked my door and yelled.

I opened the door and they asked Me to pay for the night. I showed my reservation and proof of payment. They looked confused and speechless. Then they requested Me to pay 30 dirham. I told them I paid everything when I checked in on 11/3 midnight and if there anything further we can discuss in the morning but they refused and made pay the 30 dirham.

Obviously, the nightbshift staff have NOT done their job and verified the reservation before disturbing Me and the ppl around Me in such late time at 2:30 am neither have any respect to their guest. If there is any confusion, then why the staff haven't called during the day (never did) or wait till morning to discuss! Why the disturbance and lack of manners and common sense! Very disappointing

The Grand Excelsior Hotel is located in Deira, just about 4.7 km from Dubai International Airport (DXB), which makes it quite convenient for travelers. One thing I really liked about the location is that the hotel is situated right in front of a park, perfect for a morning walk 🚶‍♀️ or simply to get some fresh air and enjoy the surroundings.
‼️However, in terms of services, our experience could have been better. We were two people staying in the room but were provided with only one towel. We also requested coffee sachets to make sure we could have our morning coffee, but even after asking, we didn’t receive any :( so we had to leave the hotel without that cup of coffee. Another issue we faced was with the room key card, which kept getting deactivated several times during our stay, and we had to visit the reception each time to get it reactivated🤷‍♀️
Overall, the experience was decent. It’s a reasonable option if you’re not planning to spend too much time in the hotel and mainly need a place to sleep or rest between activities. Not entirely sure if I’d recommend it, but it can work for short stays or transit travelers.

I had a very bad experience at this hotel. The room was not clean at all — there was dust everywhere, the bathroom smelled bad, and the bed sheets looked like they hadn’t been changed. The furniture was also damaged and poorly maintained, with scratches and broken handles. I requested the staff to clean the room properly, but nothing was done even after I complained. For the price I paid, I expected much better service and cleanliness. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until they improve their maintenance and cleaning standards.

Checked in on October 21, 2025, for a 2-night stay (planning to extend to 7), but this “4-star” hotel is a disaster. Revolving door broken upon arrival. Waited 2 unnecessary hours to check in from 1 PM to 3 PM—no reason given. Female receptionist turned aggressive, repeatedly demanding my name rudely. Requested duty manager; claimed colleague Wakar was it, but no office, no professionalism, refused to give manager contacts or incident report form. Ignored my request for high-floor quiet room—stuck on 3rd floor, no upgrade offered. Rude Indian housekeeping staff questioned me while waiting, then lingered outside my room suspiciously. Room door left unlocked with latch open—major security risk! Old, broken furniture; poor cleanliness; untrained staff. Feels unsafe and unprofessional. Avoid this place; Dubai has better options.

Worst Hotel Ever !! Big Warning! ❌❌❌
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was extremely dirty, everything was broken .. the air conditioner, bed, lights, and even the TV was not working. There was no tissue, no toothbrush, and no basic things inside the room. The toilet was very dirty and smelled horrible. If you call the phone for help, nobody answers …you have to go down to the reception yourself, and even then, nobody cares. This hotel has zero service and no respect for guests. It’s a complete disaster, a total waste of money. I will never come back here and I warn everyone: DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! It should be shut down.

Hotel staff is not attending to their gusts from the check-in. I came to the hotel on 24th September around 1 pm. Even after giving my booking details they couldn’t find the booking till 3.30pm. Even after that, there is no bell boy service and we have find our room & carry all luggage by ourselves. Even at the checkout on 27th around 12 noon hotel reception not be able to send a bell boy to the room. When we inquired this they said “sorry sir “ only. Not recommended to anyone. Thanks

This hotel is not “Grand,” it’s a complete disgrace to the word hospitality. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life, and I strongly warn anyone even considering this place — don’t.

We had booked through MakeMyTrip, but their “system” didn’t show our booking. As a result, we were forced to sit in the lobby for 3–4 hours like beggars, waiting for someone to care. The staff were unprofessional. The only person who deserves appreciation is Ahmed (the receptionist), who at least helped in coordinating and securing our luggage during that painful wait. Apart from him, this entire hotel is a living disaster.

Once we finally got a room, it was a nightmare:
• No extra bed provided for three guests.
• No toiletries, no towels, no glasses — even after calling and requesting 5–6 times. Reception simply doesn’t care and most of the time doesn’t even bother answering calls.
• The room was filthy, with water leakage and a cheap, rotten stink that made it unbearable to stay inside.

To call this place unhygienic is an understatement. The condition is so bad, it honestly feels like a roadside pavement would be more comfortable and cleaner. At least the streets don’t suffocate you with a rotten smell.

This hotel is a scam — nothing but false promises, zero service, and absolute negligence. The management should be ashamed to even operate under Dubai’s name. It tarnishes the reputation of the city’s hospitality industry.

If you care even a little about your comfort, money, or basic human dignity — avoid this hotel like the plague. It’s not just “bad,” it’s pure torture.

Ahmed, thank you for at least doing your job properly. The rest of the staff and the management — a complete disgrace.

This was by far one of the worst and most humiliating experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel. The moment we entered, the security woman started interrogating us with completely irrelevant questions — asking if we even came for the guest or not, which we completely booked for four people which clearly can see by the receptionist . Her behavior was absolutely disrespectful and shockingly rude. In front of everyone, she was yelling and shouting at us as if we did something wrong, which was extremely humiliating.

The worst part? We had no idea why she was even shouting at us in the first place. It was senseless, rude, and extremely humiliating. And while all of this was happening, the receptionist stood by doing absolutely nothing — no control, no professionalism, no basic courtesy.

This place has zero respect for customers and no understanding of hospitality. If you expect even the minimum level of respect, do yourself a favor and stay away from here.

I had a very bad experience with this hotel. They took a deposit from me, and when I checked out, I forgot to collect it. When I came back after 3 months to ask for it, they refused to give me my money back and told me the management had changed. This is completely unfair and unprofessional. Be very careful if you stay here – make sure you don’t lose your deposit because you may never get it back. I do not recommend this hotel.

I really had a good experience before with the old staff but since the OYO have take over especially the reception people need to call 12 to 13 times just to receive the call and another 10 calls after that to deliver the stuff to the room….I think the reception people are either lazy or moreoften they are doing intentionally especially with the night staff

The worst hotel in Dubai in terms of treatment from the receptionist, he has no professionalism in hotel dealings, and his treatment of customers is very impeccable and does not rise to the level of being a tourist hotel. I believe that the presence of employees like this person is a big negative for the hotel. However, we booked through one of the booking applications that the hotel put its name on, and indeed the amount was deducted from the bank account. We went to the hotel and the reception was very bad, and the employee denied the existence of the reservation and asked us to contact the application management, and although we asked him that the communication should be through him, he refused, and we sat in the reception for more than an hour waiting for someone to respond to us or to communicate with a manager qualified to deal with customers, to no avail. Indeed, the amount of the two-day reservation was withdrawn and we did not find any interest from the hotel management. I do not recommend it at all. The answer is clear from its title, as it happened to us before receiving the room, so what about staying in the hotel?

Honestly, the hotel is absolutely amazing and I loved it a lot.
I visited it before and the staff are extremely high-quality in dealing and their services are fast and convenient, even the food and meals are honestly amazing.
If circumstances allowed me to go, I would stay there even for one night, but it's more than enough, as if you were relaxing for a month, not just one night.
I'm in Dubai and God willing, I will try to stay there again.

Such disgusting behaviour they dint even give me room because I had booked through agoda they literally shouted at us our 200 got wasted i would never recommend this to even my enemies I swear wallah too bad

I went to the hotel at night after coming from a very tiring trip to take rest i booked it through agoda and then when i reached there the receptionist said they didnot have the data and they were soo rude to us soo rude they dont even know how to behave with a customer and it was not just us there were multiple customers with issues like giving room which already had guest literally they were opening the door and already they were people this is so disguisting specially those 2 people a guy and the girl in the receptionist literally shouted at us

Worst experience I've ever had. More than 2 hours just to check me in. Employees are useless, doing nothing other than stall you.

Also the worst parking entrance I've ever seen.

The room was quite spacious, which I appreciated. However, I did experience some cleanliness issues, including concerns with the bed. I also had to contact room service multiple times for basic requests, which became inconvenient. That said, the staff were very polite and tried their best to assist whenever needed.

The real highlight of my stay was the food — it was exceptional. The terrace restaurant, in particular, offered great service and a wonderful dining experience. The swimming pool was also enjoyable.

Overall, while the hotel has potential, especially with its food and staff hospitality, it could benefit from improved cleanliness, more consistent room service, and better general maintenance. I'd consider returning for the restaurant, but hope to see improvements in the accommodation side.
